Care & Repair

Care and Repair is an independent home improvement agency.

Our aim is to provide support for older, disabled or vulnerable people to help them maintain their independence and remain in their own homes for as long as they wish. We are able to help people living in the private sector, as an owner-occupier or private tenant as well as Housing Association tenants.

Due to recent funding cuts we have had to limit the services available to clients. Currently, we can help to organise disabled adaptations to client's homes. For example, installing a level access shower where someone can no longer manage to get in a bath. Typically, we can also help with stairlifts, hoists, ramps, kitchen adaptations, door entry systems and any other related adaptation to make it easier for a disabled person to live independently at home.

We can visit you in your home to discuss your needs and answer any queries you have. In consultation with you and an Occupational Therapist where necessary we can draw up specifications and plans as appropriate and arrange quotations from our list of approved contractors. Once the work is underway we deal with any issues as they arise and make sure everything is completed properly before we pay the contractor.

Sometimes grants are available to pay for essential adaptations. We can check to see what help you might be eligible for and help you to apply for a grant if you would like us to.

If you would like to have an informal chat with us about the help we can give you or someone you know please give us a call on 020 7385 9689. Alternatively, you can email us at care&repair@creightonhouse.org.
